Let your inner child free - Light painting is all about experimentation!

There are many forms of light painting, and  in this “workshop” we are going to play! The toys you will need to bring are a camera, a tripod and some lights.

OK - camera and tripod, got it. What do you mean by lights?

Well that is just it, any lights : flashlights, toy lights, dollar store, cellophane hanging off a flashlight, LED lights, grab your kids Light Saber. If it makes light you can use it. If it’s sparkly you can hang it from a flashlight. Some lights are very dim, that just means they need a longer exposure. Some are very bright, so you might have to change up the camera settings.

Come and have fun with us! We will have lots of light options with us and I guarantee we will not exhaust all the possibilities, and we will have a good time playing!

IF you have a remote trigger you might want to bring that as well. But you don’t have to have it.

Bring this: Flash lights, colored plastic bottles, glow sticks, sparklers, flash, color gels, reflective streamers, even the plastic bag can be used.

The long tubes are 4 ft. T8 Fluorescent Bulb Tube Guards, sold at Home depot and Lowes.

Time: 5pm until 8:30 (?)pm; Sunset is at 6:39pm

Who: Our leader for the evening will be Ken Hofheinz, Ken will show how it's done, how to make lights that will be fun and interesting and create the desired look you are looking for.

Where: Dog Beach in Coronado (at the end of Ocean Blvd, where it stops to go into the Naval Base). Walk toward the water, towards dog beach. We will be there by the water.

Parking: There should be plenty of parking on the street, and around the park.  Instruction: Ken will go over what lights you have, and provide instruction and settings to get going and help us through the evening.

Bring: what you have for (portable and colorful) lights. Camera, Tripod, fully charged Speedlight, flashlights, colored gels or colored saran wrap, anything to experiment with!  Maybe even a chair or towel.

THIS IS A FREE EVENT, PLEASE REGISTER SO WE KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE TO LOOK FOR!
